Students and Citizens Against Futile Ethics
S.A.F.E. Keeping Disabled People Safe

S.A.F.E. is a
fledgling organization that has been formed in response to recent events
surrounding Futile Care legislation. To read about these events, please see our
news and memorial links.
As its founder,
I hope that S.A.F.E. will provide an environment where people of all
persuasions can come together to oppose Futile Care laws by developing
strategies for patient advocacy, comfort and protection.
While it was
formed in response to the futile care dilemma, I hope that S.A.F.E. will
proactively address a variety of disability issues, as this legislation tends
to impact those who are the most handicapped.
In respect to
this, however, another aspect that I would like to see in S.A.F.E. is
collaboration with other minorities and social justice groups. I believe that
people who are struggling with various minority issues can help one another by
providing activism advice, valuable information regarding significant issues,
and general support for one another in the broader community.
Finally,
S.A.F.E.'s primary mission is to educate the public about issues surrounding
futile care and the disabled community at large. In serving this purpose, those
in charge of posting information will seek to present balanced information
regarding situations presented despite what the organization's position may be.
Welcome!
